    Hi

Actually not that many apps need to be running on a PC at boot. If you can attach the following we can help you narrow down the list.

You have a few in that screenshot that do not need to run and igfxTray is an Intel Graphics consol. driver booster that do not need to run at boot.

    Thank you for the help.

They all are listed as "optional" but I got into trouble playing with this stuff years ago...so I ask...aside from igfxTray, any others off that first list I should disable?

This is what I is in the .txt file...Do you need a copy of any of the other categories such as Firefox, scheduled tasks, et cetera?

Are you having a problem with your computer? If you are not even willing to "play around" with your startup apps list then I don't think this forum is for you. Playing around and tinkering with our computers is what we do here.

If I wasn't willing why would I ask...I'm simply not going off into it blindly.

Oh and 1) I don't want anything running that doesn't have to be and 2) I'd like it to start/run faster...that's why I'm here and why I asked...that good enough for you?

I just checked one of the Win 7 netbooks in the house and I have 16 items running at startup.

    1. Do you use Dell Datasafe Online storage? If not, you can disable it.
    2. IJNetwork Scanner Selector can be disabled. When you want to scan, you can do so from the Program files. It just does not need to be running at startup all the time.
    3. Persitence is not required to run at startup.

How much RAM is in the computer?

4 GB and I disabled those three...thank you...

With 4GB the computer should not be slow.
Have you done maintenance like cleaning up old files? Have you defragged lately - only if you are using a spinning hard drive. An ssd is never defragged.

It would be better if you uploaded screenshots directly here at the forum (using the Manage Attachments button). The one you inserted last is very blurred and therefore hard to identify what's on it.

It is a bit blurry but I can read it without my glasses...however...
