    Hi all
New to this forum, please help, i have very limited computer experience.
I am having problems at start up, it can take over a minute to get up & running.
I use CCleaner every day along with Norton 2009 to help clean up Spyware & such.

    What can you suggest.

    Greetings, CF...

If you would, please list your Operating System and any Service Pack info, and any hardware specs that might prove useful (amount of RAM, how you access the internet, any strange peripherals, etc.)...

Hi could you also post a screenshot of the list of startups you have as many can be deleted as they are either not needed or just updaters?

Just run Ccleaner and click Tools > Startup and take a screenshot of the list and attach as per this guide HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post

There are numerous things you can stop from running at start up.

You may wish to use one of these:

    Startup Manager

    Startup_CPL

Your screen shot is a little hard for me to read, but you can definitely stop:
    Google Toolbar
    CCleaner
    QuickTime
    ISUSPM Startup
    Adobe Reader
    SunJava
    AOL Dialer
    BlueTooth
    Epsom
    Groove Monitor
    Host Manager
    Windows Search

    Hope this helps.

    Hi CF...,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

As far as the slow startup issue, I would follow the suggestions that have already been posted.

I wanted to let you know that one of the advantages of having a subscription to a Norton product is that you are entitled to free product updates for the life of your subscription. The 2010 versions of Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security have recently been released and I would strongly suggest that you upgrade to the latest version, which contains new and enhanced features to keep you protected against the latest threats. The 2010 version uses even less system resources than the 2009 versions. To update, please visit the Norton Update Center at the link below.

    Thank you,
    Mike
