not long ago, my pc went away for repairs and when it came back i noticed it was running on a different start up type. And somehow it has changed back, and i would like to know how i change the start up type.

e.g.right now when my pc logs on a box appears in the middle of the screen and u cant get rid of it, but when it came back from being repaired it didnt come up on that start up type.

sorry if this is confusing :S

    i need help though

Go to start/control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on and off, you can change this around and see which way you like best. ed

thanks for that but that isnt what i mean,
when i got it back there was something in the 'run' program that when i typed in brought up the different start up options.

msconfig typed into the RUN command box will give you access to startup types like Normal, Safe.

but using msconfig to control what applications startup with your PC is not the best method as msconfig using in this way to control startups adds a startup of its own,
