I have just installed a new MSI motherboard. When the computer starts I am given the F1 option to continue or the DEL option to enter set up. All I want the computer to do when I switch on is move from the MSI screen to Windows XP.

Usually when getting a new motherboard, it's wise to do a fresh install of XP. However, it's not always necessary though I recommend it, personally.

In this case, it could be that your motherboard drivers aren't configured properly, and therefore a new installation is required.

Thanks. Have already completely reinstalled a fresh copy of XP, but to no avail. I seem to remember that there was a setting somewhere that allowed an option for starting with the manufacturers screen first or the ms-dos type black and white screens?

There is an option in bios to disable logo screen, you can also set your first boot device as your harddrive in bios,if its a new msi board you should also have a boot menu, you can enter this by pressing F11,'tap it just after the memory check' in here you can setup your boot preference, once you have set these windows should auto load :)
