startIndex cannot be larger than length of string

Hi,

I have purchased some software on line and when I run it I get the error:

startIndex cannot be larger than length of string.
Parameter name: startIndex

I have googled this and found a couple of suggestions but given in tech talk so I have no idea what they are suggesting.

Can anyone help me with this problem.

The makers of the software say that it "seems to be a microsoft problem associated with Visual Basic."

and

"You may want to find out how to enable the JIT debugging on your PC."

But I've got no idea what to do next.
Any help appreciated.
