starting HTML

so.... i am trying to find some tutorials/faq/RFCs that are made for someone that is just starting out on HTML, don't know ---anything--- about it, got a free program called AceHTML 5
and trying to use my 5megabytes internet space that my isp gives me, so where do i first start?

they're short to the point primers and tutorials written by a rather fine teacher, IMHO. (n.b. not professor)

 

This site helped me alot, it is the student companion to the textbook version and it is very helpful.

and Kodo, I do agree now that tables arn't all that terrible ,scary, and such, but still a pain in the butt,

I use AceHTML also and that is mainly how I learned. Just use there free sample codes and learn how it all works. After all, example can be the best way to learn something new. Then take that code already there and customize it and tear it apart and rebuild it and then combine it w/ other code already in the provided in AceHTML.

 

www.w3schools.com is a good place to start also That way you can learn the "proper" way. (Don't be lazy when marking up... it will bit you in the ass when you come to cross browser compatibility!)
