    Lubuntu 12.10

Last night i was jacking around on my laptop running said OS while in bed, and fell asleep after replacing PCman file manager with Dolphin file manager (not sure if that is important). The battery ran dead. Today when I boot up, after entering my password the screen goes black and I get the following messages:

mountall: Disconnected from Plymouth [ OK ]

    * Starting NTP server ntpd [ OK ]

At which point the system hangs and I'm not sure how to proceed from here. From trusty google I learned that NTP is a time server, and various forums talk about a few different things to remedy the situation, but these are on different versions of the base OS, and I dont want to do the wrong thing and make the situation worse.

I'm assuming the "mountall" has to do with my full system encryption.
My wifi button lights up, so it seems wifi is working, and I also tried plugging in ethernet for internet connection in case that was a problem, but no luck.
    Any help would be awesome.

On further investigation, I noticed that, although I have full disk encryption, I failed to set a BIOS password (LOL). So I could boot from a live cd/usb. . .Research continues as time permits.

Sooo i can find numerous methods of creating a live linux usb WITH a windows machine, to run ON a windows machine, but I dont HAVE a windows machine. I have 2 machines both running lubuntu. I'm not even sure I'm on the right track, but I'm trying.

, BSorry for the delayed response. I ran out of time, having to go out of town, and wound up simply going into bios, seeting it to boot from the optical drive and reinstalled Lubuntu. Thank you for the Psychocat link, I will bookmark that.
I suppose I should register at Ubuntu forums for quicker responses, for situations such as this one, where I was pressed for time.
    Thanks for your attention, though.BOOMM
