Just when I get the last stupid version to work properly, they come out with a new rev that downloads itself and once again, I can't play .SWF files from links.

Crap Crap Crap. I have better things to do than spend 3 hours a week fixing a web browser.

Is there a way to rool back to the version I had yesterday? not even sure what rev number it was. Just the first version of 2.0 I think.

    Click Tools - Page Info
    b. Click the Media Tab on the Page Info Windows
    c. The media tab has a complete list (with preview) of Images, CSS Files and Shockwave Flash files that were downloaded by the Firefox browser while rendering (loading) the page.
    d. Scroll down the list and locate the swf file.
    e. Click the "Save As" button. Select some directory on your hard drive and save the file (No need for a third-party plug-in)

there is a add on called Video Downloader for Firefox. Just go to Firefox add ons and download it (assuming you already have Firefox). I had never had the problem you are describing with Video Downloader. Basically it lists all the videos on the page and you have to select which one you would like to download onto your computer.

    Thanks for the reply.

Page info window? Where be that? -OOPs found it. Let me give it a try.
    OK tried it,
It does not even find the .SWF files. I just tried it on the ABC news website. It only shows the gifs for little graphics.

I downloaded a plugin for my last fix called windows media viewer. This allowed me to stop it from autoloading and crashing. I had to fiddle with it and with ZOnealarm extensively last time to get it to finally load a linked video. Now seems I am back to where I started with the new rev of Firefox.

    Go to Firefox home page,
find the support forum, and do a search
for old versions of firefox. You can then
    download whatever version you want.
Just be sure and do a clean install.

Actually Fastracker it appears that most of your FF problems may be related to ZA, I know that mine were and I dumped ZA. I also picked up Opera at the same time, but still use my FF regularly with no problems now that ZA is a thing of the past.

Barnburner's advise is great the FF forums is a must site for any FF user, found most of my FF problems were solved quickly there...Link http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=4 or you can use your FF bookmarks it is there as well. Hope that helps

Thanks for the help so far. I am still having zero luck however.

Installed a pre 2.0 version and it would not work, went back to the new version, still will not work. Have been playing with tools/options/
    and
Tools/mediaconnectivity/ options and wizards to no avail.

THe other day I accidentally deleted SWF as a media type and can't seem to get it back, although I was able to get it working somehow with the first version of 2.0 that came out about 2 weeks ago. Can't find that one anymore.

I hate to admit defeat, but am about there.

Found the exe file I originally used to install 2.0. Several reboots and thousands of clicks later I am back in business.

    Thanks for the help everyone.
