It was recommended that instead of just going to msconfig and disabling the items that I do not want starting up when I start the computer that I use this program. That was for my Windows Vista Home Premium laptop computer and it works just as the instructions state.

However, with this new desktop pc that is running Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Home when I tried using it and following the steps to remove the check mark from the items that I do not want starting up when I start the computer and then clicking on the apply icon it is putting the check marks back into those boxes :( I can't figure out what I am doing wrong since I followed the steps in the help section for that software to the letter.

I figured out that I can go into the task manager and click on startup and uncheck the items that I do not want starting up when the computer starts up but exactly which is the best way to be doing this in windows 8.1

    Thanks So Very Much

Thanks! I do have ccleaner on my computer - but didn't actually realize that I can do those things from that software.

I will either just use the task manager to take care of those items or use CCleaner. Thanks Again :)
