    Well here we go again.

This PC (XP SP3) seems to be making decisions on its own, again.

I can not seem to keep my Spybot S&D Tea Timer icon (which is currently the real-time spyware protection I am using) active on both user accounts at the same time - and I "think" (?!?) it has to do with the Startup Control Panel (2.8) that I have installed/running.

I'm guessing I will need to send some (dreaded) screenshots, but not sure which ones to send (last time I was reprimanded for sending more than I need to and 'wasting everyone's time'.

Startup CP has seven (7) tabs - which ones should I send please? And should I send one (or more) from Spybot?

    Thanks in advance,

Spybot and Internet Explorer 8 have compatibility problems. What browser are you using?

I'm assuming your using fast user switching and having two profiles loaded at once....

Check if its running on at least one account through task manager.

If it is and that account is an administrative account your still protected on both accounts your just not going to get the pop-ups from it.

Hmmm interesting - thanks for the reply ...

I use Firefox (updated to 3.0.7), however, I do have IE8 installed ("on") the PC, but I don't use it ... well, not much. I mean, occasionally I'll bring it up, for whatever reason, but 99.9% of my stuff is done in Firefox.

I wonder if the update/download of IE8 could be the problem? Now that I think about, my problem did seem to start "around" (at about) the same time, so again I'm thinking; "hmmmmmmm....."

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am using fast user switching, and do occasionally have both profiles running at the same time.

Good point about task manager ;) (I didn't think to look there) - I'll check that ... though not sure how comfortable I'd be without seeing the pop-ups (warnings)...

It's Spybots immunizer that's causing problems. Just turn it off and see if that helps...

Thanks again, but I just looked at it, and not exactly sure how I would "turn off" the immunizer.

And then afterward, would I switch it back on just to update (just after updating), and then switch it back off after immunizing?

In case you want to turn off the immunizer, here's a pic. Click the "Undo" button.
