Startup.exe and SpywareGuard

Hi again

I can't run startup.exe. It comes up with the message that it has encountered a problem and will close. Clicking 'debug' has no effect. I can't see the progrom to uninstall and reinstall under either Revo Uninstaller or the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. This has only happened since I uninstalled Sygate Firewall (which wasn't allowing Microsoft Updates) and installing Comodo Internet Security.

Also, is SpywareGuard still a worthwhile program to have? It has never had an update since it was installed about 3 years ago ...

Additional info' - OS Windows XP, using Avast antivirus, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, AdAware SE (I believe from a previous post that AdAware can be uninstalled as Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster effectively cover the same ground - I just haven't got round to it yet).

Startup.exe is (usually) Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel, and is not listed in Revo or Contol Panel Add/Remove programs as it's a "stand-alone" application. There is no install.

Try downloading a fresh copy as yours may have become corrupted.

I used to run SpywareGuard but found the same "problem" about updating. I figured why run it if it's not updating. And I believe you're correct about AdAwareSE.
