I was browsing and chatting the other day as usual when all of a sudden my computer completely shut itself off-- no blue-screen-of-death warning or anything. When I turned it back on, it proceeded to check drives C: and D: "for consistency" FAT32 and once it finished that, restarted again. Unfortunately it goes back to the same system-check screen and then restarts again, causing a cycle of doom. I can't start in safe mode either, but manage to limp into Windows from time to time. Did my power supply screw up and cause hard drive errors? Is there something I can do to fix it?

What is the operating system, and do you have the Windows CD?
