startup issues and monitor problem

inspiron 5150 all of the sudden doesn't recognize the processor which is 3.06ghz-i go into bios and it says 1.85ghz?? is there a way I can manually change this-the curser will not highlite this to change it-so I get an error message at boot up that says something like microcode revision not recognized-must press f1 to start up. ALSO the screen randomly goes black-maybe after 3hrs maybe after 5min- system doesnt shut down screen just goes black and I have to maually restart. Tried flashing bios and even an older bios but still the same. any ideas?

 

You might have a MB or CPU issue ... but to start with have you set the BIOS to (preferably) optimized defaults? If that doesn't work try Fail-Safe defaults if your BIOS has it.
