What startup mode should my puter usually be in? I have windows XP media/pro sp 3. If selective, what choices below should be ticked?

    TIA

you should have your computer set to start up NORMALLY .. selective mode is for diagnostic use & trouble shooting issues.

If you want to change apps that begin at start up you should not be using msconfig. Even using the feature in CCleaner is not recommended as this does not provide a back up should things go wrong. Use a start up manager such as StartUpCPL

Well, the reason I ask is because in READ & RUN ME FIRST it says to change the startup mode to normal.
