Startup/msconfig question...

Hi there.....please excuse me if anything i say sounds thick but i'm just learning about this sort of thing so i havent a clue. A very good friend of mine on the net has taught me lots that has helped me clean my puter and protect it well (must have had the world record for trojan horese lol) anyway....i'm now trying to help another friend of mine who's an even bigger technophobe than me.....the main thing left or so it would seem is that she needs to sort her startup thingy in the msconfig thing. (Excuse the technical terms lol) She has tons of stuff clicked in there....i mean probably 56 or 60 plus and my techy friend took me through mine the other night coz mine was in the same state....she went through every single one step by step and found all the rubbish and deleted it...loads of spyware and stuff yanno? However this took up a whole night of my good friends time and i have vowed never to put her out like that again......so if i want to help my techniphobe friend sort her startup thing......what might be the best way to know what is ok to unclick and get rid and what she need to keep there? Some of the codes were totaly over my head and i didnt know whether they were good or bad.

Any idea's much appreciated.......oh yeah....she's on windows ME btw.
