Getting blue screen with these codes...
    0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x00000043, 0xf8a8d260, 0x00000000)

If I kill the power and restart I get the same a few times until it eventually starts.

    Older pc, windows xp home.

Not sure how to fix this, so far I've been living with it. Anyone feeling froggy? Thanks.

As no one else seems to feel froggy, I'll give it a shot. A few questions first though, what Service Pack level is XP at? Did you install any new hardware shortly before this happened? Do you have a XP Home installation CD? :)

It's got service pack 3. I don't think any new hardware was installed.... I'm also pretty sure I have the xp home disc around here somewhere.

    Hi

What would be the rest of the BSOD message, normally there is a mention of a faulting module or file?

Take out and then pop back your ram modules, this is to make sure they seated ok, if you have more than one then test each one individually with a ram test application like his one HERE

If older PC then if possible change the motherboard battery (small button cell) for a new one.

If you boot to safe mode (f8 at boot) then do you get the same error?

After the computer is booted and Windows has started, go to Start, Run, and in the command window/box that opens type sfc/ scannow. Please note the space between the / and scannow. This may require the XP CD which is why I asked about it.

Let me know what happens and how it goes. :)

Sorry, didn't see that Halo was assisting while posting!

Didn't really specify anything else. At the top it did say something about newly installed hardware, but I haven't.

Not sure if it matters, but this did all start after a nasty virus...did clean it out (at least I thought).
