Startup problem... memory?

Okey well, heres my problem: I turn on my computer, first black screen says (no 80 conductor on primary IDE drive but it worked with this before) it goes through the black screens and then the Vista loading things comes up. It passes, then a black screen and then i receive the blue screen of death. On that screen it says something like "Dumping physical memory 10%) and the percent rises and in about 2 seconds my computer restarts... What could be wrong? I'm running Vista Ultamite 32-bit with 1gb (2x512) RAM... This happened after i was loading a game and it froze forcing me to turn the computer off by holding the power button...

PS: I just looked at it again, and at the top of the blue screen it says something along the lines of: "Windows cannot find the hive (file) Windows/System32/CONFIG .... where something is corrupt, absent or <something>" Another strange thing is that the Vista loading things is done twice... It loads the screen goes black and it goes back to the loading thing where it loads again..

 

Ive seen something similar happen to an older computer i upgraded to vista premium, in BIOS i disabled quick boot and it loaded into windows just fine, i think the commands for BIOS differ from each motherboard but its usally DEL, F1, or F10. If you havent used BIOS before i recommend not messing with anything else

*edit* im not a tech guru so im not sure if this will fix your computer, but i had a similar incident and this managed to get me to windows to backup everything
