was having problems with the deadly blue screen and my computer continued to restart. I could not get into the safe mode nor could I restore to a previously safe point. I put in the XP CD and followed the directions to repair first instead of going into the recovery console. It did not give me that option so I had to go into the recovery console. Now when I reboot I get the message that the computer cannot start because there is an error with system32\drivers\isapnp.sys. This is what I tried so far:
    1. ren C:windows\system32\drivers\isapnp.sys isapnp.old
    2. expand d:\1386\isapnp.sy_c:\windows\system32\drivers

It tells me that the system cannot find the file or directory specified.

I would appreciate any help thanks!

Try putting a space between the sy_ and c:
