Startup problems related to CDRom???

    Hi!

    I am completely computer illiterate but I am having a few problems and stumbled across this site and was hoping someone may be able to help me out!

    1)During startup my computer freezes when it says "searching for boot record from CDRom". If I then open the CD drive it unfreezes and continues startup. However if I leave the CD drive open for even a moment it will not close and is rendered completely useless.

    2)After Windows opens 2 messages pop up. One saying "error adding Oak Task bar" and the other saying something about "RUNDLL"

    3)When I try to open Internet Explorer it takes at least 5 minutes for a window to open.

    4)If I leave the computer sitting for too long it seems to partially shut itself down. The monitor appears to be asleep and I can hear the computer running however if I try to move the mouse or hit any keys nothing happens forcing me to reboot the computer yet again.

    I don't know if anyone can help me with this but if you can it would be very much appreciated!!! I copied as much information as I could find out about my computer below.
