    Apparently, http://www.iamnotageek.com/ says that there are many viruses on my startup list. Is this true? Attached is a hijackthis log.

    One of the top dogs (Chaslang or PhilliePhan) could provide more detail and instructions, but I suggest you try lojack to get an analysis of you HJL and also afterwards go thru the stickies in the Spyware Specific section, ok?

    I did. i used adaware, housecall, and norton to scan me compy. all say im completly clean. problem is http://www.iamnotageek.com/ still detects multiple items such as 180 solutions. i dont understand this as i am not experiencing any ads or webpage hijacks.

    Again read my previous post and try using 'Lojack'.... copy/paste your HJL to that online HijackThis Log analyzer and let it give you some info on the log ....this is only the beginning.

    Again READ THE STICKIES/GUIDES posted on the Spyware Specific section, they are there for a reason. For example as Lo-Jack this shows on the analysis window as well that you are running HijackThis from 'C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Owner\My Documents\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe', you are supposed to create its own folder and run it directly from the C:\HijackThis folder or C:\Program Files\HijackThis folder, also equally important is NOT to have any Internet related activities and browsers running, you had Firefox running. You had way too many processes/programs running in the background, don't! Close all programs and processes if you can before running HijackThis. You have to follow the instructions in their entirity otherwise it will not be effective.
    :rolleyes:

    Hi Moridin,

    Look in Add or Remove Programs for 180 Solutions. Also look in Program Files. Delete any related items. I will doublecheck your HJT Log. What exactly is Iamnotageek detecting?

    OK - Looking at your log, it seems pretty clean to me. Suggest you remove WildTangent, Viewpoint and perhaps weed out some of those R1s. Have HijackThis fix these, if you are so inclined:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE ---> Mild Spyware -http://computercops.biz/startuplist-5306.html

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

    Remove these folders:
    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
    C:\Program Files\WildTangent

    Otherwise, things look OK to me.

    PP :)
