    Hello,

Earlier this week (5/8/11) I turned on my laptop (running Windows Vista Home Premium) and got the message about starting the pc as usual (or something like that) or using the start up repair / recovery (recommended) so I selected the start up option, inserted the disk, and restarted the computer. I followed all the steps for the start up repair and I also send the information to Microsoft as well. It then stated that it was unable to repair the computer so I went to the advanced options and selected the system restore option. I then chose a restore point from the day before, let it run the restore and restarted the laptop. It then stated that the system restore was successful. I then ran all of my spyware scans a boot scan with my antivirus program as well as ran the online scan OneCare and other online virus scans. Nothing was found. - just wanted to be sure. Anyway, things have been running fine for the past few days, then when I turned my pc back on this afternoon it happened again! (this is just 5 days after the first time it occurred). I again did exactly what I did before and ran the start up repair as recommended with the same results. I don't understand why this is happening. I have not installed any new devices, hardware or software recently either.

I did print out the Repair diagnosis and repair log located in the system32 folder and on both logs everything stated that it completed successfully. error code - 0x0 until it gets to Test Performed: Bugcheck analysis
Result: completed successfully. Error Code = 0x0

    Root Cause Found:
    Unknown Bugcheck: Bugcheck e3. Parameters = 0x929a0d48, 0x89ac9b08, 0x0, 0x2
    Repair Action: System Restore
    Result: Cancelled

Repair Action: system files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490

The above was from the first time it happened on 5/8/11. Also I did do the system restore from the repair restore and when it was done it stated that it was successful so I am not sure why it stated that system restore was cancelled.

Now when it happened again today I checked that log file and all the tests performed again stated Completed Successfully. Error Code = 0x0
    UNTIL.....
    Test Performed:
    Name: Bugcheck Analysis
Result: Completed Successfully. Error Code 0x0

    Root Cause Found:
    Unknown Bugcheck: Bugcheck 1. Parameters = 0x8500c626, 0x0, 0xfffe, 0x0

    Repair Action: System Restore
    Result: Cancelled

Repair Action: System Files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error Code = 0x490

Again I did do the system restore from the start up repair and I did not cancel it. When the system restore was done it stated that it was completed successfully so I am not sure why both times it has stated that it was cancelled.

Why is this suddenly happening and how do I fix whatever problem it is?

Any assistance would be so very much appreciated.
