Startup & Shutdown Problem

Upon booting up my computer I get the following message:

Upon clicking Continue or Quit I cannot shutdown or reboot the computer. I must hit the reset button in order to reboot the computer or turn the power switch off on the power supply.

When I check the Event Viewer through Control Panel I also have these Error messages under "System":

The ProtexisLicensing service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the ProtexisLicensing service to connect.


I also went to Help and Support/Tools/Advanced System Information/View the error log. The following error was listed hundreds of times since January 17, 2009:

The server's configuration parameter "irpstacksize" is too small for the server to use a local device. Please increase the value of this parameter

I would appreciate any help that anyone can provide. Thanks in advance!

 

Here is an update to my post.

I downloaded and updateed .NET Framework. I still get the same message but when I click on "Quit" I can then shutdown or reboot my computer from the Start menu. If I click "Continue", I still have to reboot by hitting the reset button or shut down by turning off the power supply.

 

Damm it. I have same problem.
Please can somebody help us with this?
