Starup Issue?

    It appears each day when I start our laptop, the internal modem disappears from the Device Manager (Win XP)and must be re-added . I posted this question in "Hardware", but based on what I've seen I believe it may be a software issue. Perhaps the modem is being disabled at start up??? Problem is that it doesn't always disappear on start up. The internal modem is easily added back using "Add Hardware".
