I have previously used the program on a laptop running window 7 without a problem, but the hard drive on that pc is failed so have to try and install it on this pc running windows 8.1, I really hate window 8.1!

I have emailed the site owner so hopefully i will get a fix to the problem

Have you tried running the installer in compatibility mode? If not, right click its setup.exe and click Properties. On the Compatibility tab run it in compatibility mode for Win 7. Might work, might not.

I cannot find the compatibility tab :(

Are you sure you are on the correct file, setup.exe? With all .exe files in Win 7 there is a Compatibility tab. Maybe your Windows Explorer is still at the default setting which hides extensions for common file types.

    Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately due to change in circumstances I am unable to offer any support for AccountIt, this product was developed by my ex and he will not do any more support. There is a note on the website and I will be taking the software down.

If you could email the file to me I would be able to extract the data into Excel, this can then be put into a different accounting package.

    Sorry I can’t help further.

Thankyou, ive downloaded it so will give it a try, took my other laptop which i think has a failed hard drive down to the repairers, so if that gets sorted i till be able to carry on using AccountIt, but if not i have this software.

    Thanks

I had another look at the Account It website and there's a note saying the software will no longer be supported after October 2014. Keep that in mind.

I know, looks likes the program download has also been removed since yesterday.

    One of those things...
If the program I recommended doesn't meet your needs, just start a new thread and someone will recommend an alternative. If you are using the software commercially, you need it to be supported and updated. :wave
