Steam Problem

Hey got an issue I really can't seem to solve. When I go to boot up steam I get an error that says

"ERROR: Select Failed:, Win32 Error 10022 'An Invalid'" then it cuts off.

Also a few other programs such as my torrent program (Vuze), Firefox, and IE. Google chrome kept crashing on me too, but CCleaners reg fix fixed that. I ran spyware doctor which came up clean. This all seemed to happen after I installed a program called Internet Download Manager. I have uninstalled it and everything but still no go. Any ideas would be awesome cause I'm pretty fed up with this thing right now. Thanks in advance.

 

Well I'm still having the same problems, but I also found that I can not connect to the itunes store and spyware doctor can't connect for updates. Windows firewall is off. I'm lost please help!

 

Sorry for the triple post, but its fixed. Not sure what the exact thing was that fixed it, but i messed around with it and its all good now. thanks.

 

Well good to know you got it working. Hopefully works all the time. Sorry nobody got to post. Some don't and some may use steam here.
