   Mouse pointer locks up randomly. i sometimes can free it by hitting arrow keys or lifting and resetting mouse, but not always. Any ideas?

   What type of mouse is this Wireless, USB or PS2?
   
   as you mention resetting, guessing it maybe a wireless one, if so change batteries or make sure its fully charged, plus re-install its drivers.
   
   If its infra red also make sure the infra red light area isnt dirty.
   
   Id its a ball mouse, take the ball out and clean it and the little running wheels inside.

   It is a Ps2 mouse. I took it apart, and the ball and innards are clean. It just seems to hang up at odd places, and at times I can get to move, but there are times when I have to re=boot to move on. Thanks for your help.
