Stop AVG from AutoStartup

On a different subject sort of...AVG 7.5 was nice and compact, AVG 8.0 is a lot more than I need or want but it doesn't show in the start up list using start up CPL or other start up managers, how do I stop it from autostarting?

 

Is it showing up on Startup CPL HKLM /Run. If it's there Uncheck.

Are you sure it's starting up and updating etc on boot. Strange that it's not showing.

I strongly advise you not to keep it from starting up at boot - any particular reason you want to stop it...Cheers

 

It doesn't show up on startup cpl HKML/run. When I look at processes under task manager all the components of AVG are there.

I have Norton IS running and used to run AVG 7.5 as an additional virus guard. The full AVG 8.0 system slows things down, and in general is cumbersome when running alongside Norton.

I don't necessarily want to remove it, just don't want it running all the time/automatically.

You cannot use two AV's. They would conflict. Since you have invested in Norton use the AVG uninstall tool to remove http://www.avg.com/download-tools
