Stop Error... I suspect virus. Help me...

Is there a stop error associated or caused by a virus?

Getting a stop error: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL ... What can I do to fix this. I'm distraught...

I AM able to get in through safe mode. I had just recently updated an older version of Roxio Easy CD Creator. Should I remove it?

any help available pleeeeeaaaassssse?

And now I can't even get into safe mode without it going to the stop error first.

I'd be very grateful for advice/help..... sympathy if I'm screwed....

That error could be RAM, or a driver.
If you have more than 1 stick of RAM, it might be easy to remove all but one stick and fire up the computer. It might be slow because of the decreased RAM. Do this with all the sticks and see if any give BSOD.

If you have another working computer, you could also download MEM TEST and test all the memory at once by running the program from floppy or CD.

If there are any errors then you have a bad stick. If the memory passes then look to drivers.
