Okay now. At work I can only use IE 8. I get the below error when going into the forums. Is this part of the Facebook "add-on" script that's causing this or something else. If this needs to be moved to another forum, that's fine - just PM me. If there's something I can do on my end by all means please help me out. However, some of the solutions may not be possible since there are some settings that are restricted due to policy settings.

    Thanks

A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer might become
    unresponsive.

Just to note, I noticed this today. When I was on the board the last time at work (3rd July) it wasn't doing this.

Turn off script error reporting and debugging in IE 8.
Open Internet Explorer and click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab, select the Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable script debugging (Other) check boxes.
Clear the Display a notification about every script error check box, and then click OK.

I get that message only on these forums using IE10 on win7x64, this occurred sometime in the last 3-4 days. By default the forums are using IE7 document mode, where as www.majorgeeks.com is using standards document mode.
If I enter the developer tools and change document mode to standards, then the forums display without lag and no popup regarding a long running script.
Yes, it is a Facebook script causing the problem. Profiling shows a ridiculous amount of time consumed by the script.

The only things I've found to do are:
    • Change document mode to standards
    • Wait until the site code is adjusted
    • Use another browser

Plodr - settings you recommended were already set that way.

Well, today I'm not getting the script error message - I'd say it's been fixed - thanks whoever it was. :)

OBTW, the document mode is Windows 7 Standards - thanks for the info _nullptr
