Stopping H*Commerce and Cybercrime

McAfee is exposing popular cybercrime methods in a new web series (directed by Seth Gordon of "The King of Kong" fame), giving insight on the strategies some hackers use to exploit people for profit (identity theft, 419 cams, spear phishing, bank scraping, blue jacking, war driving, DDOS attacks, etc...) they're rolling out the series at http://www.stophcommerce.com.

i'm doing some work with mcafee on this campaign - what do you guys think?

 

That was scary. To think somebody can hack into your system even when you in you own car. I got a firewall installed (NOT Windows) but is it enough?

"They are so good at what they do.":-D They mostly only come out at night,,,mostly.

I'll be watching it when it comes out I loved King of Kong.

 

i believe she lost upwards of $400,000. in the episodes later on, they describe exactly how they did it - in episode 3, they show how the scammers scraped an existing website to make a dummy site for their customizing phishing effort.

you can catch three episodes so far at the stop h*commerce website. i think the white hat / grey hat / black hat phenomenon is really fascinating.

Me too,I wish I understood Programming,electronics and Hacking better and was of the intelligence to understand exactly where the electrons flow,alot of the decent hackers I've seen are borderline Asperger syndrome or Savants.

Plus I spend enough time in front of the computer.
