:-o I operate XP Home as my OS... This morning, I turned on the rig and noticed some strange changes...:confused

    1) Different fonts
    2) Smaller fonts
    3) All history gone

Yesterday, I made no changes under tools nor added any new software...

I did not surf anywhere I should not have gone...I did defrag the "C" drive, but that was all...

Any suggests or ideas would be kindly appreciated...

Double check that you are signed in to your usual account. Start button and then check the top of the list to make sure it is your username. (Sometimes when a profile is corrupt; windows logs you into a temporary profile without telling you.)

That is really my only guess. :(

Different fonts and smaller fonts: Is this in the browser or with all programs you open?
You also should mention what browser you are using (history gone).

Thanks, Sach2, but it still reads, Hans!

Plodr, you are right about omitting the browser...It is FF 3.9 and it is only when using the browser and not other software programs...

Plodr, :)-o) sorry it is not the latest version, so it must be the 3.6...

I have been able to increase the small fonts size through the use of the keyboard...

I can also accomplish by using the tools section as well...However, for some reason it did not work on smartmoney.com....:confused

This must have been a software conflict, IMHO and a minor one at that...

    Get the addon, nosquint https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/
    This works in FF2, 3 and 4.
You will see a small magnifying glass at the bottom right of the status bar. Click on it and you can adjust the full zoom and the text level on a site by site basis. It will remember your settings when you revisit the site, I think within 4 or 5 weeks.

    I went here http://www.smartmoney.com/
and was able to adjust the main page from 95% - 120% by 5% increments with no problem.

Interesting idea, Plodr! Thank you and I will look at it...

The setting with the keyboard seems to hold...When I go to Geeks's main page, the fonts is small (I did not adjust with the keyboard), but when I migrate to the forum, I have the larger fonts sizes that I previously set...

I appreciate all of your input, Plodr!

Try going to the Geeks main page and hitting Ctrl + 0 to reset to default font size. (ctrl + zero). That works on any page in FF. Ctrl and + increases font and Ctrl and - decreases font.

Firefox remembers the last setting for each page. So it is possible to browse the web and have different pages appear different sizes.

Thanky, my good man! I learnt something today...You are right, that FF does seem to remember the last font setting...:major
