Strange file....?

Anyone know what kwinrpdv.exe is? Google kicks up nothing. Thanks.

 

It's probably malware. If Yahoo and Google searches turn up nothing, you at least know that it's not an important Windows file. Remove it! PRONTO! Or at least rename it to something like 'kwinrpdv0.exe' (note the zero tacked on the end) or change the .exe to .ex0. Reboot and see if anything wierd happens. If not, delete the file.

Where is the file located Lev?

Have you right clicked it and checked the properties or version?

 

Located in the System 32 folder, with it's buddies kwinpdw, kwinped, and kwinpeg also .exe files.

Verison 1.0.0.1 Copyright (C) 2004 180KB that's for all 4 of them.

 

I don't know if this applies but all i can find that might be it.

As Halo says the file name may be randomly generated, but the file signature could show up on a virus scan as it can't be altered.
After neutralising the possible harm by name change as suggested, try some online scans, one may recognise the signature.
