strange monitor prob

Hi,
I hav a compaq MV520.since few days its acting strange.My display shrinks sideways(shortens).some years back it used to shorten vertically.then i could only see the bottom half and the top half was dead..I used to tap,shake the monitor and the display used to come back..i called my tech guy,he did some soldering and it worked..whats the prob now i dont understand..could anybody suggest a permanent solution plz..

 

The permanent solution you're looking for is to buy a new monitor. The one you currently have has issues.

The problem you're having is most likely from one of capacitors dieing on you. You could pay someone to remove the broken one and solder a new one on, but if it's already happened twice, chances are it will happen again, it's just a matter of time.

 

I agree with Coco, when your monitor starts to mess up, its just a matter of time before it just dies.
