Strange MS Word / printer issue

We have a problem that I've not seen before. We are using an HP 7680 printer with Office 2007, and windows XP on a DELL E-series laptop. All worked fine for several months, but now we can print in every application but MS Word. We get an error message stating, "Windows cannot print due to a problem with current printer setup". This only happens within word; all other programs are fine. So, I sent the user an OFFICE 2007 CD and we did an un-install and re-install but the results were the same. We un-installed the printer and re-installed a different printer and the results were the same.

If I get this right, you can't print documents from Office 2007. But are you able to print from the notepad?

 

no, I can printer from every application (including all ms office 07 apps) with the exception of word 2007.

 

thanks for the suggestion. Believe it or not, my boss decided to try loading office 2003 for this user and that worked fine. A 'band-aid' fix as far as I'm concerned, but at least the user is happy.
