So I signed up for this wireless internet service close to my area. They promise great speeds and I get a great reception from them so I decided to go with it.

To log in you open your web browser then go to 192.xxx.xx.xx/loginpages/login.shtml It opens an internal webpage based from the network from which you can log in and then get your real speeds.

He gave me my login and says that he is able to log in it fine, but on my computer I am constantly getting the error:

"Can not read Cookie, please check your browser"

I've cleaned my temp files/cookies so many times today, disabled anything that might interefere with cookies and I still get no luck. I've tried using firefox, internet explorer, and I downloaded Opera just for this but NONE of them work.

The really odd thing is that he has a guest account that I was able to log into the first day before I purchased my account, but after I purchased my account and had trouble logging into it I tried to log on the guest account and am now getting the same error on the account I once logged in.

What the hell? (By the way, running Atheros 5005GS card and Windows XP Pro).

First, I think you need to check if you even have real connectivity.
Can you ping the specific IP address?
Did the "guy" provide you the recieving end's equipment? (modem/dish/nic...)
Did you try using IE and typing in those numbers (only the numbers)?

From what you've posted, it looks like this "guy" has some type of wireless router (maybe supped up), and sharing the connection.
If you only have wireless nic installed on your PC, you should see "available wireless connection" even if you don't connect.
If you don't see that, you got NO connection.

Another reason you get login prompts on websites, although this is a different situation and I may be way off, is that you need the the website in trusted sites in internet properties. I know even if your on someone's network you cannot access certain things without this in there.
