Strange problem with Windows Media Center in Vista

Hi All:

I have Windows Vista Home Premium X32. I also have a internal tv tuner by ATI. Here is my problem. Up until about a week or so ago everything was working perfectly in Windows Media Center. Now none of the tv shows that I have set to record will record. When I click on the Live TV button, nothing happens. When I click on the Guide button, it says that it is not set up. I go to set up and when it tries to download anything, the most up to date TV set up options, an updated guide, anything, nothing happens. Nothing downloads and there is no error message displayed. When I check for an internet connection from within Windows Media Center, it says that the connection is working.

I have gone to event viewer and under applications there are a lot of errors from the same things:

ESENT says the following: Catalog Database (1340) Catalog Database: An attempt to determine the minimum I/O block size for the volume "C:\" containing "C:\Windows\system32\CatRoot2\" failed with system error 5 (0x00000005): "Access is denied. ". The operation will fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).

CAPI2 gives the followiing: The Cryptographic Services service failed to initialize the Catalog Database. The ESENT error was: -1032.

I have no idea if those errors are related to my problem or not, and I have no idea how to fix them. My web research says something about USER permission being added to the catroot2 folder but it is there already. If anyone can help or tell me of a different forum to post the problem, I would be forever greatful
