Im running windows 2000 (at work)

One of the things that drives me nuts is the collapsed drop downs which shows only recently used items... How do i turn that off?

An example would be if you hit the edit tab in excel or word and it only shows 5 out of the 10 items under that drop down unless you hit the little vv.

    Thanks for any help

Hello there, Welcome to Major Geeks!

Go to View/Toolbars and check "always show full menus".

Thanks it was actually unchecking the "Show most recent first" that worked, but you got me to the correct spot.

Thanks.. its always the small stuff that bothers you the most

Isn't it just? I made an unattended install CD for XP that turns all of that sort of crap off on install. Group similar items, balloon tips, menu-hiding (not in office though)... gah!

Hm, I don't have that option on mine, but I'm glad it worked for you. I actually hate that feature too, but had never thought to try to change it, until your question prompted me to snoop around and find the answer. So, thanks to you too!! :)
