Hi, i bought a PB iMedia A2620 UK and it came with Windows 7 Home Edition, due to high software incompatibility with video drivers and other programs that I am used to, i formatted my disk and went back to the roots - Windows XP pro, but the 64bit version.

The installation went fine, and all is well, aside one thing - my OS can't detect my sound card. (it is onboard).

Anyway, i went to Packard Bell's website and downloaded the audio, video and lan drivers for my iMedia A2620 UK (yes, i chose the right pc model for the drivers) and when i try to install my newly downloaded audio driver it says "Error - This program requires Windows NT 6.0.6000 or later". Now obviously this is a joke and there's someway around that right? Anyway, any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi

No joke sadly as the drivers listed for your model PB are Vista/Windows 7 and Vista is aka as NT 6.0.6000, so those drivers will not load into an older Windows version in XP x64.

You will need to find compatible Windows XP x64 drivers for your model Packard Bell, and this may or may not be an easy task as none maybe written for it as OEMs like PB use custom hardware devices for onboard hardware as in audio etc.

Did you install the Chipset driver as soon as you installed Windows? if not the below attached log will tell us what Nvidia one it is as well as what Audio is onboard

    Hey,

Thanks for looking up for a chipset driver for me, I tried looking for it and ruined my windows config so badly that I had to re-install the same windows rolleyes

Anyway, I installed it and on Device Manager I can see that Under "Other Devices" there are 2 "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" both with a yellow question mark.

    Hey Halo,

Thanks for your time and patience until now. Really appreciate it.

Your 1st link doesn't work, says it cant find path specified. But i searched kb888111xpsp2.exe on google, i downloaded it but when i try to install it, it says that "The kb888111wxpsp2.exe is for a diferent hardware platform" so maybe i downloaded the wrong one or I don't know.

I downloaded the 2nd link with no problems but I havnt installed it yet coz I'm waiting for the UAA drivers 1st.

    Cheers.
