Strange Sony CD-RW CRX0811 problem.

If this might sound like a simple problem to some, I apologize for my ignorance hehe, but I've reached the end of the line of what to try by now...so thanks in advance to anyone responding!

I have a Sony CD-RW CRX0811 burner as a master drive and it is being recognised perfectly fine by my XP OS. I have burnt a good amount of working CDRs via Windows Media Player and Nero. Now, my unsolvable problem is the following...my CD Architect 5.0, Soundforge 5.0, Cool Edit 2000, Audiograbber and even the CD player that comes standard with Windows as part of the 'Entertainment' tab will not recognize this drive. The most I have gotten out of the standard Win CD player is that it will recognize the drive and even CD length/tracks etc. for roughly four seconds and suddenly clear itself again to show nothing once again. I have checked all my physical IDE connections, exchanged IDE cables, tried a brand-new drive, without any luck and the same remaining problem.

If anyone would happen to be able to give me any hints on the subject matter, I'd be more than happy! Thank you in advance and sorry for the bother.

How many CD's have you burnt? Maybe you burner is on the way out???

 

Thanks for the reply. I actually managed to solve the issue by now, I dug into the BIOS some more and found out that in the Integrated... sub-menu RAID was enabled, yet I had never enabled it myself, and neither do I have RAID hehe. The problem was resolved by simply turning this off in the end.
