    Hi,

I've tried a forum search no luck and tried google search but also no luck so thought best to make a most.

My problem is this, when i stream a video from a website it loads fine and quality is fine, but for the first 5 - 10 ins the video, as best i can describe it, lags / hangs.

the audio tends to play normally but the picture hangs for a split second, just long enough to borderline annoyance and it does it constantly. sometimes the problem isnt there and sometimes it is even if i stream the same video. i found away around it a few months ago which is to let the video buffer to 100% before playing but now it seems even that isn't preventing it any more ? i don't think its hardware related so not sure if its software issue. I've run antivirus scans inc spy bot, super anti spyware, malwarebytes and windows defender so i know PC is relatively clean.

anyone able to provide some light on this matter.

It's called buffering and is caused by the incoming stream not keeping up with the speed the computer is attempting to play it at, so the comp has to wait intermittently. It's either your slow internet connection, or a poor connection between router and computer. If you are using a wireless connection see how it is if you get router and comp much closer together or try using Ethernet.

i let the video buffer before watching so that is deffo not the problem.

If you're using Firefox, you might try turning hardware acceleration off, I have seen that fix choppy video. If it doesn't give you the desired results, you can reset it...

    Hmmm...

Is the problem with just one video or one web site? Re-reading your original post I am uncertain...
