Streaming Video problems

I have been experiencing issues when trying to watch streaming video specifically from VH1.com & CNN.com. The symptoms are that when the Windows Media player starts, screen appears to start normally then goes all GREEN...Sound seems to work but video stays green and does not play. I have checked all available driver versions of my Video card, sound card and media player. I have also made sure that I have the latest version of DirectX. Updated ALL available Windows SP2 downloads and I have run numerous Anti-Spy/Virus/Error programs including "Yahoo Anti-Spy", "Macafee Virus", "AOL Anti-Spy", "AOL Anti-Virus", "Spy-Bot Search & Destroy", "Hijack-This", "Ad-Ware SE by Lavasoft", "Windows XP Defrag", "Windows Error checking (CDrive)", Windows XP System Restore".....Any other ideas?

Sounds like a codec problem to me. I've never liked WMP for this reason. I would recommend that you try GSpot, the codec information appliance to see which you have installed, and remove any that produce the problem and re-install them.

Or, if you're like me and don't want to worry about codecs, you should try out VLC Media Player which has every codec you could ever need built in. I love this app! Its free, lightweight, and plays every file I've ever come across.
