Streaming Video?

A friend of mine wants to do a streaming video of her Halloween party. Shes got a webcam and broadband, and she wants to be able to see it over the net without using a messenger client. I searched google and these forums and didnt not come up with anything. Does this have to be supplied from her website provider or can it be done with a software program? OF course the party is tomorrow and she wants to hook it up before then, so if ya'll have any ideas or resources that I can check will greatly appreciated.

I ran across this a while back just looking for new media player (can't stand WMP). www.videolan.org. Might check it out and see if it will work. I don't know exactly how the streaming portion of the program works.

Thanks foogoo i have MPC and use it along with real alternative and quicktime alternative for video playback. I have gone through several applications just with audio in mind. I am now on xmplay. I have tried, jet, zinf, QP, and so far xm is my favorite. Uses very little resources when its playing from my system tray.

 

I'd use that earthcam link or somthing like that. It's not worth setting up a dedicated streaming server, distribution server and broadcasting server just to get a one off event online, trust me!
