Streaming videos keeps stopping

I am trying to get info on downloading ...preferrably freeware... a software program that will help me comfortably watch a movie or the like without stopping so darned often. Thanks for any feedback you may offer.

 

How do I speed up or accelerate the buffering of a movie ?

 

Hi ikyguy, ther are some programs available that "accelerate" streamed vid's but they are rather hit and miss, and i doubt they would solve your problem.

Even with a decent broadband speed, it is fairly common to have to let a video "buffer" a small amount before watching.

If you are having problems even when it is buffered then running an extra program to "speed things up" is going to do just the opposite. you want to run Ccleaner to get rid of any junk, make sure to run the registry cleaning option in ccleaner too.

Then you want to look at how many and which programs you have got running, as videos do take a fair amount of resources from your system,
so the less there is running the more chance you have of a smooth video.

It would be worth checking you have the latest flash player also.

one simple trick, as soon as you click play, pause it, and let the video load atleast 50% prefferably to 100% first, then watch.
This works 90% of the time.
