streaming vids

When watching videos and streams everything is green and red, and i can barely make out the picture because everything is shaded green and red, i have avi and mpg files on my computer and they work fine, so im thinking its maybe only sreaming vids. could it be a codec problem? i noticed it soon after installing the fear demo. i hear that it installs codecs and other unwanted copywrite programs on your computer but im not sure, any help? thanks. btw here are some specs

pentium4 3.0GHz
windows xp sp2
512sd ram 100 add on ram
radeon x800xl agp video card
