I was here previously in thread: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1849584#post1849584

I now have desktop capability back so have started the process to do the various reports that need attached. I have downloaded all the programmes and they are in their relevant requested locations.

I have got to the stage in the Windows7 requirements of disabling User Account Control but when I take the slider down to Never Notify and click OK nothing happens (no popup warning). It says do not continue until UAC has been disabled so wanted to come on here first rather than running the various programmes to get the logs.

    What should I do?
    Thanks again for any assistance.

Open a run command (Windows key + R)
    Copy this line
    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k %windir%\System32\reg.exe ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v EnableLUA /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Try right clicking on a program like notepad and select 'Run as administrator'. If you receive no UAC alert, then you'll know UAC is disabled.

If there are too many things borked with your OS due to malware, for example ZeroAccess, it may have changed alot of things inside the system that would prevent those changes from being made.

If you aren't able to do this step, it is not 100% required it be done, it does make things easier. Just be sure to carefully read any "Do you want to allow the program" messages before clicking Ok on them.
Personally, I never disable UAC when removing malware and have no issues, but that is personal preference I think.

EDIT - Keep in mind, you will need to reboot the PC usually to remove UAC. But if the slider just goes back to what it was at after you reopen the console, then it may be best to skip this step and move on. Don't get hung up on something not as important as actually removing the malware.

Tried the run command and line but the black panel with ERROR: Access denied came up.

Going to go through with scans and logs as suggested. Will attach in next message.
