Stuck in safe mode laptop....

    My friend computer has a old laptop around 8 years olds it stuck in safe mode
    he edit the msconfig and tick the safeboot option BUT the thing now is
    when he enter safe mode the ask for a username and password he type
    what he type in normal mode but it does not work.....

    The cd-rom is NOT working anymore he only have a floppy 3 1/2 working
    is there a way to boot from a diskette and edit the BOOT.INI to remove the safemode.......
