stuck! Win XP sp 2 Newbie

Hello helpers:

I asked another pc help group for Removal of DriveCleaner, WinAntivirus & gomyron and followed their, (Different from yours), Instructions.

HJT, New HJT logfile, Winapp, Ccleaner and was to download Panda & run that, but my IE says, "Blank" and Mozilla Firefox won't download it, either.

'Haven't had a reply since June 7, so I asked them if it would be okay to ask someone else to help me, since I'm stuck with no way to download Panda, to continue with their Removal Steps. No answer and I don't want to be rude!

During sign-up, here, my PM is turned off and I don't know how to turn it on. (Did I say I am struggling?) Not all instructions are in Preschool!

I printed their Removal Steps and don't know what to do, now.

I have logfiles I can send if you think I should continue this or should I just stop and start your Steps?

I don't know how to check how much memory is in my pc and I don't know how to unzip and rename/locate files but can follow lowest-term directions.

I apologize for my ignorance - as you can see, I'm just starting and print most things first, because I, myself, need a memory chip. I do keep at it and I thank anyone who has the patience to help me through this!

The other group said I also have Windows Advanced Care, which is considered Malware and must remove that, too.

I do have a good idea how these things got here, but I don't know how to safely unplug my pc and keep the cord, so nobody else can use it when I'm not home.

Bless the kind soul who can help me get my pc back to emailing my grandkids and learning worlds of wonder, on the internet!

Drive Cleaner and WinAntiVirus can be easily removed with SuperAntiSpyware (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html) just be sure to update and run a complete scan. gomyron, on the other hand, is a beast. You'd be better off moving this thread to the malware removal forum. Once there, read, print, and follow the stickies and post your logs and questions there.... unzipping files is easy: just right click on the .zip file, choose extract all, and follow the prompts (WinXP only). Instead of removing the power cord, just password the PC so nobody else can use it... good luck!!!

BTW- Advanced Window Care is NOT malware! It's a very popular download here at Major Geeks and many, many people have used it (including myself) many times without any problems....

First, I'll do the viruses, then I'll go over to Malware and see about gomyron.

I've got a password on the pc, but can Safe Mode protect it from this stuff?

To check the memory you have in your computer, right click My Computer, click properties, and a small frame will appear- on that it shows the amount of memory installed ( also the size of the cpu (computers brain )

I was supposed to put the Pentium III, 60 MHz and 192 MB of RAM in the title - but, gratefully, got help, anyway.

I'm just going on to Malware to see if I can understand directions for removal of gomyron, so I'll put that info in a new thread, there.

I really appreciate you nice people helping me understand this stuff.
