I dont consider myself a novice at removieng junk, but I guess im a bit out of touch these days..

i have run all the advised programs and am still haveing problems
the computer keeps running update in a loop, telling me I need to install the same thing over and over again, and then failing it. Also the Windows installer keeps trying to install something thats not there, and wants a CD.. no matter what I do it will not go away..

    here are my logs

    Thanks in Advance..

If you are having malware problems, you need to complete all steps in the READ & RUN ME. MGtools is the very last step to run and it must be run after all the other steps. However, your problem sounds like it belongs in the Software Forum as problems like this with Windows Installer happen all the time. It is normally a software issue from a broken/incomplete install or uninstall. This is also more than like why the below is running when you start your PC

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe

That is Windows Installer. I'm not sure but it could be related to Microsoft .NET Framework installation or removal issues. The below services are not normally seen running:

    O23 - Service: ASP.NET State Service (aspnet_state) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_state.exe (file missing)
    O23 - Service: .NET Runtime Optimization Service v2.0.50727_X86 (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe (file missing)

I'll move this thread to the Software Forum for others to comment on.

Run the Windows Installer CleanUp tool, available here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us That should solve your Installer woes. For the update problems, try running Dial-A-Fix and use the 'Repair Windows Update' option. It also has a Windows Installer repair option which you might want to try also. You may want to check all the boxes in the 'Registration Center' too. It's a totally safe program to use, so you can actually check every box and let 'er rip.... Good luck!

chaslang, i would never post without doing everything in the tutorial. I only posted the tools log becasue that had the hijack log in it. I did however run everything. The only problem is that the installer interupts the combofix on the reboot.

Thank you for the move and the info..

dlb, I ran the dial a fix and it tossed me an error code 2146232576 and was not able to give me an idea how to fix it. there is a problem with mscoree.dll and I am sure its part of the .net thats not updating in winupdate for me.

    oh, btw..

when I run update, it throws me this error

Sl21.tmp Common Language runtime Debugging Services

    Cordbg.exe !a 0x24

when I looked up Sl21.tmp it showed me a malware isue, hence the first post ont that thread
