Windows 7 Pro SP1 - I have been all through 'services.msc', Shell Hardware Detection, online white papers, the registry, and ended with Control Panel>AutoPlay. No way shape or form can I get AutoRun to activate when putting in Software programs located on DVD'c or CD's. Any help??

on my '7 it's in Autoplay under the 'games and software' dropdown menu. "Install or run your programs.

Go to Control Panel > AutoPlay.
Ensure the Use AutoPlay for all media and devices box is checked - top left.
Scroll down and click Reset all defaults.
    Click Save.

Yep, that's where I goofed. I was thinking about that last night before I went to bed. Then saw it pointed out in your post. Thanks for the direction pointer. After resetting defaults I have left everything as 'choose a default' for the time being.

Thanks Imandy Mann for your input. I may end up selecting that option in the future for software programs.
