Stupid customer of the day.

    Customer had a water leak and we couldn’t go out and fix the problem until they got the leak fixed. Here’s how the call went:

    Customer: I think you charged me for work twice for the same work.
    Me (looking through the records): looks like we came out the first time and replaced [item] but weren’t aware that the leak wasn’t fixed, so about a month later, we were called out a second time to look at [item] and it’s water damaged again. We removed it and will replace [item] when the leak is fixed.
    Customer: So there is no [item] there right now?
    Me: No.
    Customer: Well, why haven’t you come to replace [item] then?
    Me: We weren’t aware the leak has been fixed.
    Customer (dead serious): Oh, you mean, I’m supposed to let you know when the leak is fixed?

    I thought you were working for a plumbing outfit? Or maybe your service person forgot to inform her that they couldn't do anything until the leak was fixed?? Or then again, maybe the customer is on medication that strips her memory!!! roflmao

    I haven't worked at the plumbing co. in years LOL and he was well aware the leak had to be fixed or it would result in the same problem everytime it rained. He is the same guy who called and said "oh, I have to call you to schedule an appt.?"

    I just think he is not the brightest crayon in the box :-D

    I think he might be one of our referents. The one who calls almost daily wondering why he isn't working more. We tell him each time that since he never returns calls, we have removed him from our list. He always says, "I have to call to tell you I'll accept the work?"

    No, silly...we just call random people in hopes that the correct number will miraculously show up for each job at the correct time and place!

    I think I talked to that guy several times both today and yesterday... and if it wasn't him, it was the people he taught computer use to. :eek

    I had a rare win against a stupid customer just an hour ago. He asked for a box of screws, but questioned the price - "I can get them cheaper at one of your other branches."
    He had an invoice from that branch in his car. Came in, waving it around.
    I pointed out that the lower priced invoice was for a completely different product. And when he said "Uh, I feel like a real stupid t**t" I replied, "I bet you do."
